1 stick of butter
14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 cup of brown sugar
½ cup corn syrup
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
12 oz. box of rice krispies
12 oz. chocolate chips (I used Hershey’s Dark chocolate chips)
Combine the butter, milk, sugar, and syrup in a pan and put over low heat. Stir until all of the ingredients have melted together. Turn your heat to high and let the mixture boil for roughly 2 minutes. Stir in the salt and vanilla.
In a large bowl, mix together the cereal and the caramel mixture. Pour into a greased 9×13 pan and pack it down evenly.
Melt your chocolate chips in the microwave, heating in 20-30 second intervals, and stirring between, until fully melted. Spread evenly over your caramel rice krispy treats. Let cool, and slice into squares.
